Thierry Guetta, 1966, France/USA) “Roundabout – Chaplin” (dated 2021) A unique, one-of-a-kind mixed media, stencil, and collage work of art on paper featuring one of MBW’s iconic characters: Charlie Chaplin, the comedian and slapstick film star. Chaplin is seen in black and white against a round-shaped colorful graffiti backdrop. He is holding the paint brush and paint roller that he appears to have used to create the pink heart behind him. The image is set against a background of vintage newspaper clippings and photographs. The unframed piece measures approximately 28 x 28 inches. It is hand signed by the artist on both sides and the verso includes the date (2021), a crown drawing, a thumbprint, and a unique UNQ number that matches that on the Official Certificate of Authenticity from Life is Beautiful & Co.
