Nocturne

Alexander Galtchansky (1959-2008, Ukraine) and Tanya Wissotzky (1959-2006, Ukraine) “Nocturne” (1986) Color serigraph on paper, pencil signed and numbered AP 1/50 in the lower center. The sheet is 37.5 x 49 inches, and the work of art has been matted and placed in a thick gold tone frame measuring 47 x 58.5 inches. A variety of elements were used in the collage making up this image, including layers of paint, fabric, music composition cut-outs, well-dressed figures wearing 1920s fashions, and a still life of a bouquet of flowers in a vase. There is a quotation written in the lower center that reads: “Little Love, a Little Kiss – I’d like to be on an Island.”
