Wayne Ensrud (b. 1934, USA) “Figure in Lace Garters” (circa 1985) is a 23 x 27-inch oil painting on stretch canvas hand-signed in the lower right by the well-known and multi-talented painter, art director, animator, and art teacher. This beautiful, vintage, tasteful, classical, nude figurative painting has previously been offered elsewhere at a much higher price point.

The artist has provided us with the following statement: ‘Ensrud has explored the subject of the figure his entire life. He places them floating in space without other elements, within decorative interiors, clothed in flowing robes as well as uncovering the figure in its natural state. Without recourse to nostalgia or fashion, he paints the figure not only as a symbol of beauty but as a strong form with arresting detail. He renders his figurative paintings with rich dynamic brushwork and yet can also minimally convey the form of a model with his own distinctive flowing lines.’
