Desiree

Gaylord Soli (b. 1939, USA) “Desiree” – Original mixed media acrylic painting with silica sand on canvas, signed in the lower left by the artist. Soli’s art draws on his experiences traveling throughout Mongolia, Pakistan, Iran, and the Amazon basin, as well as his life-long fascination with primitive cultures. Known for the use of a rich and earthy palate, Soli layers, scribes, and textures his canvases in a unique kinship with early artistic and organic processes. His paintings exhibit the influence of Picasso, Tamayo, Auerbach, and Hans Hoffman, and are inspired by both music and the spiritual.
