Depicted is a close-up view of a child intently feeding the pigeons in the piazza.
In addition to sculpture and painting, Irving Amen was a master printmaker who produced thousands of woodcuts, etchings, lithographs, and serigraphs. Children, pigeons (and other birds) were among the many subjects seen in his artwork. Many of his pieces may be found in prominent collections and museums both domestically and internationally.
