Marie Françoise Gilot is a French-born painter, ceramicist, and printmaker best known for her 10-year long, stormy relationship with Pablo Picasso, with whom she had two children (Paloma and Claude.) She has also been married to Dr. Jonas Salk, who discovered the polio vaccine. She has been living in both Paris and New York, has authored books, and continues to exhibit her art internationally. Her paintings, drawings, and original prints are included in the permanent collections of numerous museums and private collections throughout Europe and the United States.
