The image is inspired by a famed oil on canvas called, “Devolved Parliament” created by Banksy in 2009. The original 8 ft 2 in × 13 ft 9-inch painting sold at auction for $12.2 million at Sotheby’s London in October 2019. Originally known as “Monkey Parliament”, chimps are depicted in the middle of a session at the House of Commons in London replacing the members of Parliament. The Presiding monkey is shown in front of the audience inside the building and the room is complete with benches, lights, and the upper floor. The work of art is hand titled (but misspelled: Parliament), dated and numbered in pencil, with a blind stamp and Signature Imprimee (stamp). It measures approximately 21.6 x 33.5 inches (55 x 85 cm) on fine art 260 gsm paper and comes unframed.
