Juliette Lemontey (b.1975, France) “Fleur Bleue” (Blue Flower) (2009) Original oil on canvas depicting a woman in a black and white print dress lying back on a bed of colorful floral fabric, her face tilted and partially off the canvas so that the features are not visible. One hand is resting on the fabric of her dress and the other hand is further down to her legs. She may be sleeping or resting, but her body is hidden in clothing and her face is turned away. It is an intimate, vulnerable moment, but nothing essential is revealed. Hand signed, titled and dated on the verso by Lemontey. The work of art is on a stretch frame measuring 64 x 45 inches and is ready to hang.
Note: The artist had donated this painting, and we acquired it from, a charity auction benefitting Jolokia Association, founded in 2012 to spread positive messages about diversity and inclusion.
