L.A. Skull

MAR aka Spencer Guilburt Mar (b. 1974, California) “L.A. Skull” – Acrylic and spray paint on Blick canvas panel, measures 20 x 16 inches, signed in the lower right by the artist (PLUS a doodle on the verso.) A southern California native, Mar has created his own street art version of a black and white skull (without a chin) featuring oversized eye sockets, an L.A. insignia on the forehead, and multiple black lines presumably of spray paint dripping down the canvas from his face. The skull seems to be hovering in mid-air but attached to colorful ribbons reaching up toward the blue sky and down toward a multi-color balloon filled cloud. Note the striking contrast between the brightly hued pleasant background and the darkness of the black and white skull. The panel has been mounted and then matted for the 24.5 x 18.5- inch black metal frame. Drip Art
