Menashe Kadishman (1932 – 2015) Untitled Original Signed Sketch by the well-known Israeli artist. As part of his military service, Kadishman was assigned to herd sheep on a kibbutz. His memories of this activity were the inspiration for the drawing of sheep, one of the most central themes of his art. In 1995, Kadishman began painting what would become hundreds (and perhaps thousands) of portraits of sheep, each slightly different, and using many colors. This piece is an original, one-of-a-kind sketch consisting of a simple drawing of two of his trademark sheep kissing, along with the artist’s signature in English and Hebrew. The work measures 3.5 x 7.5 inches and comes in a frame measuring 10 x 14 inches. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
