Young Chanoir

Chanoir (Alberto Vejarano, b. 1976, Colombia) “Chanoir Jenue” (2020) ‘Young Chanoir’ – An original 18.5 x 11-inch drawing, signed, titled and dated across the bottom by the artist. Classically trained, Paris-based street/graffiti artist Vejarano created the alias ‘Chanoir’ and then multiple cats in all colors, shapes and sizes began appearing on walls in the streets of the world. His non-political artwork is reminiscent of childhood innocence. Coming from the fusion of Pop Art and Free Figuration, Chanoir cats transmit energy and optimism to whoever looks at them. Is that a can of spray paint next to the youngster, Chanoir?
