(Attributed to) Louis Icart (1888 – 1950, French) “Curly Locks” is one of 20 original color copperplate etchings Icart created as illustrations for the 1926 edition of Colette Willy’s book called “L’Ingenue Libertine” (The Innocent Libertine). It was Icart’s first illustrated book. This image measures 8.5 x 5.5 inches, and with the mat and frame, the work of art is 25 x 22 inches. The signature “Louis Icart” is in the lower right margin beneath the image. There is a COA from Nathan Daniel Isen attached to the verso.
