Sous la Neige (Under the Snow)

Francoise Desmont (b. 1932, France) “Sous La Neige” (Under the Snow) is a hand signed, limited edition giclee of archival pigments on Hahnemuhle pure rag paper. The image measures 9 x 12 inches, and the work of art has been spectacularly matted, filleted and ornately framed to museum specifications measuring 18 x 21 inches. It is hand signed by the artist in the lower right and hand numbered (18/100) in the lower left.

Francoise Desmont lives and works in the Oise part of France. Among her favorite subjects to paint are landscapes, nature, the snow and the sky. The image may at first seem minimal and simple, but a closer examination of her brushwork reveals subtle yet complex use of varied colors, shading and lines.
