It is based on the original 119 by 97-inch acrylic, oil stick and paper collage on cotton drop cloth with metal hinges created by the artist in 1983. The unframed sheet measures approximately 15 x 11.25 inches. In Basquiat’s unique style, this expressionist work of art depicts a seemingly tired black man named Joe holding a frying pan with two cooked eggs (eyes?)
