Reuven Rubin (1893 – 1974) “Two Blue Horses and Figure” (1968) is a limited-edition (98/150) color lithograph, hand signed in pencil by the Romanian born Israeli artist in his customary style of his first name in Hebrew and his surname in Roman letters. The unframed sheet measures 21 x 29 inches, and the image is 18 x 26 inches. Depicted in fine lines and color are two lively, galloping horses with flowing wild manes, while behind them is the figure of a man with a whip. Condition: Some small creases lower right sheet edge, a few discoloration speckles, otherwise in good condition. Gallery retail price: $2250. Provenance is the Michael Hittleman Gallery (Los Angeles) that was known for exhibiting a broad spectrum of Israeli fine art ranging from the early pioneers to the leading avant-garde artists.
