Alexander Wissotzky (After) - “Colorful Anemones” is a signed, limited edition, embellished color screen print on paper. The work of art measures approximately 12 x 10 inches, and with mat and frame, it is 18.5 x 15.5 inches. Both artists have hand-signed the piece in ink, and it is inscribed AP 17/50 (artist’s proof). This is a print based on an original mixed media painting featuring a vase filled with blooms of brightly colored anemones sitting on a table next to a plate containing a sliced apple, cherries and other red fruit. Superimposed upon this piece are an excerpt from a vintage music sheet and calligraphy from old English manuals.
Alexander Wissotzky is a pen name jointly used by married couple, Tanya Wissotzky (1959-2006) and Alexander Galtchansky (1959-2008). They studied at the Kiev Institute of Arts and immigrated to Israel. She trained as an artist, and he as a book illustrator. Their works are both nostalgic and romantic.
