Yaacov Agam (b. 1928) "Pace of Time" - Lithograph featuring hand signatures by Israeli artist, Yaacov Agam, and Shlomo Lahat, who was the Mayor of Tel Aviv from 1974 - 1993. This 1989 print was created for the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, based on Agam's 1970 oil on aluminum work titled, "Pace of Time." This piece is enclosed in a blue frame and measures 27 x 19 1/2 inches; the image itself measures 24" x 15.5." Shipping is free in the USA.
There is a large original piece in the Tel Aviv museum called, "The Pace Of Time." If you look at that piece from the left you see one image. If you look at it from the right you see the image that is presented in this piece. The original work was created in 1970. There are smaller versions (also known as "Time Step") that were created with color screen printing on vinyl in 1971. Agam's best known series of works, comprised of painted strips that appear to shift and oscillate as viewers alter their points of view, would become known as "Agamographs".
