Wedding in Jerusalem (Holy City)

"Wedding in Jerusalem" - ZAMY STEYNOVITZ (1951 - 2000, Poland/Israel.) The image is also known as "Wedding in the Holy City." It is a pencil-signed and numbered (231/330) limited edition serigraph on paper. Much of Zamy's art reflects his Eastern-European Jewish heritage and shows the connection between heritage and physical surroundings using rich warm tones and colors. The piece measures 31.25" X 24," comes unframed.

Israeli impressionist painter, Zamy Steynovitz (1951-2000) spent the first few years of his life in Poland before immigrating to Israel with his family in 1957. When he was a child he developed his interest in art, beginning his artistic endeavors before leaving Poland.
Steynovitz studied at both the Art School in Tel-Aviv and at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and developed his artistic style through his travels around the world, exhibiting internationally. Although he frequently featured Jewish themes and tradition, he was also inspired by other subjects, such as his time in South America, still-lifes, Paris, and landscapes. Much of the evolution in his work was related to his use of color and texture, with brighter and more vivid hues and contrasts.
Sadly, he passed away at a young age in September 2000, leaving behind a prodigious body of work that is extremely collectible and sought after worldwide.

"Wedding in Jerusalem" was published in 2013 by the Estate of Zamy Steynovitz. It is catalogued as Estate Certification SE 506. Pieces certified by the Estate are hand signed by the artist's brother, Tzvi Steynovitz.

The Steynovitz family has established an official website (steynovitz.info) on behalf of the Steynovitz Estate. The website’s goals are to gather and catalog all of the artwork Zamy created during his lifetime so it can be presented to the world, and to have centralized files of all of his artwork certified by the Steynovitz family. The only authorized representative of the Steynovitz family, who owns all of the Steynovitz Zamy artwork copyrights, is Zamy’s only brother, Tzvi Steynovitz.
