Anatole Krasnyansky (b. 1930, Ukraine, USSR/American) "Streets of Old Rome" - One of the artist's original style old world architectural pieces, this lithograph is hand (and plate) signed, beautifully framed to museum specifications using high quality wood, acrylic and several layers of matting, and numbered (225/950.) The image measures 12.5" x 16" and framed it is 19.5" x 23.25."
Krasnyansky has separate and distinct styles of artwork. The first are his old world city-scapes, inspired by his art history and architectural background. He depicts historic structural buildings showcasing Russia’s architectural heritage in appreciation of the past. Another style is modern and surreal developed as a result of his new life in the United States. In 1981, while working on a set for the rock band KISS, Krasnyansky observed the outlandish outfits, loud music, and harsh, flashing lights. It caused a change such that the artist began incorporating surreal, masked characters into his paintings.
