(After) Banksy (b. 1974, England) “CND Soldiers" (2019) Limited Edition (2/50) reproduction print on 360 g Arches paper inspired by the image that first appeared outside Parliament during a 2003 anti-Iraq war protest that was later confiscated by authorities. In Banksy’s familiar style of black and white stencil on a monochromatic background, this image depicts one soldier painting a large peace sign on the wall and another soldier, armed with a machine gun, on lookout watching his accomplice’s back. Measures 16 x 12 inches unframed. Signature imprimee (stamped), Titled, Numbered, Dated. Comes with Certificate of Edition. Prints of this image have been created in different color variations.

A limited edition screen print of the image was released in 2005, and then it was reconstructed for the “State Britain” installation at the Tate Britain in 2007. The peace sign originally symbolized the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) of 1957 and is now widely known as an international symbol of peace.
