Joan Miro (1893 – 1983, Spain) “Untitled” (aka ‘La Lune Verte’ or ‘Green Moon’)(1972) Lithograph in colors, pencil signed ‘Miro’ in the lower right margin and marked edition LXIX/LXXX (from the 80 works printed with wide margins, signed and numbered with Roman numerals.) Strong frenzied lines, controlled figures and primary colors populate this astral-themed image in which a mixture of curious figures seem drawn to the green crescent moon. The image measures approximately 15 x 12 inches, and the work of art is matted and encased in an antique gold colored frame measuring 31 x 28 inches.
An unsigned edition of this image was included as a supplement to "Litógrafo I" (the 1972 first volume of the catalogue raisonné of the Miro’s work in the medium of lithography) and it was documented in Catalog Raisonne Joan Miro "Litógrafo volume IV 1969-1972" (1981) listed and illustrated as Mourlot catalogue raisonné no. 861 and Patrick Cramer, Joan Miró, Catalogue Raisonné des Livres Illustrés, Editeur P.
