(After) Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864 – 1901, French) “The Chap Book” Lithograph by the RE Society after Lautrec’s 1895 Poster, “Irish and American Bar, Rue Royale” that was an advertisement for the American literary magazine (published from 1894 – 1898) called, “The Chap Book.” The unframed print measures 23 x 16 inches (image) and 26 x 19 inches (sheet.) The 'Irish and American Bar' on Rue Royale on the Right Bank of Paris, was one of Lautrec’s favorite haunts where he sat at his reserved table to drink and watch the many patrons from the horseracing set as well coachmen for the high society set.
