Anatole Krasnyansky (b. 1930, Ukraine, USSR/American) "Paris Café" - One of the artist's original style old world architectural pieces, this is a hand signed, titled, and numbered (76/300) serigraph. The framed size is 20.5" x 32.5." A Certificate of Appraised Value (dated 1989) is available.
Krasnyansky has separate and distinct styles of artwork. The first are his old world city-scapes, inspired by his art history and architectural background. He depicts historic structural buildings showcasing Europe's and Russia's architectural heritage in appreciation of the past. Another style is a modern and surreal, developed as a result of his new life in the United States. In 1981, while working on a set for the rock band KISS, Krasnyansky observed the outlandish outfits, loud music, and harsh, flashing lights. It caused a change such that the artist began incorporating surreal, masked characters into his paintings.
The Ukrainian born artist pioneered new techniques in watercolor by experimenting with texture. His artistic output centers on dualities: old and new, history and imagination, structure and surrealism. Through separate and distinct approaches to his art, Krasnyansky depicts expressive architecture and surreal figures to remind us to never forget the accomplishments of the world’s cultures and traditions.
